Parent Involvement

Westmont parents are known for making a difference and these words best describe parent involvement at our school. The history of our school is closely linked to the commitment of our parents, and our ongoing success is attributed in great part to our parent/school partnership.

There are many ways a parent can be involved in our school. We welcome new families by assigning them a buddy family to facilitate an easy entry into their new environment. From there on in, we encourage and foster parent participation by offering a myriad of choices. Westmont has it’s own parent organization whose goal is to support the school, teachers, classes, and students in any way necessary and to provide social opportunities for our families. Our school is overseen by a Board of Trustees comprised of volunteer parents (current and past). Each class has a room parent, who organizes class teas, events, and coordinates volunteers for the classrooms and school wide events. Parents are also involved driving on field trips, reading to their class, helping with special celebrations, organizing bake sales, and celebrating their teachers and their school with them. All the work done by parents grows from a dedication to a school that is special to them and keeps the tradition of making a difference alive and strong.

Thank you to the 2016-2017 WPO Co-Chairs, Committee Chairs, Room Parents, and all our wonderful parents for your time, support, and creativity!
